日本とポルトガル･･･半世紀の仲

2013年からちょうど470年前、種子島にポルトガル人3人が
たどり着きました。
有名な鉄砲の伝来と一緒に、ヨーロッパと日本の初接触でもありました。

 

ポルトガルと日本の交流はその時代から始まり
両国の文化や社会に大きな影響を残しています。

 

カステラやカルタの語源がポルトガル語であるのは
有名な話ですが、印刷機から西洋楽器まで、
この両国の国際交流の中で様々な新しい発見がありました。

 

2013年、このような記念すべき一年に、

日本と古代からの仲間であるポルトガルを訪ねて

1590年の「天正少年使節団」の跡をなぞる。。。

そして、日本の都市と「姉妹」という絆を持っている
都市を実際に訪れると（シントラ、ポルト、アベイロ、カスカイスなど）、
思いがけないところで日本の影響を感じられるのではないでしょうか。

Japan and Portugal...half a century together

2013 is the 470th year since Portuguese people stepped onto
Japan for the first time, marking the first contact between the 2 nations.

Both countries influenced each other, even leaving native
words in each other's vocabulary.

Japan's influence on Portugal might be found
by visiting the cities the Japanese "Tensho" Embassy
went to during its travel to Europe from 1590.
(Sintra, Porto, Aveiro, Cascais...)
